EXECUTIVE SEARCH RESULTS

"Elaine and Bob are a truly great combination. They both approach our industry from a specific skills perspective. They understand how our business works and what resources are required to build and maintain it. I wouldn't consider any other search partner to continue to add outstanding, perfect fit executives to our organization."

Executive Search Case Study 1:
Stock Price Growth

A publicly traded apparel corporation, which had experienced exponential growth, suddenly faced a severe decline in stock price -- and a challenge to its leadership in succession planning and strategic direction. A new CEO was engaged and charged by the Board of Directors to make swift and significant changes, and to restore the company's once illustrious brand. Hughes was engaged to recruit for a number of positions reporting to the CEO, all to be filled in short order. The individuals recruited contributed significantly over the next few years. Their efforts in support of the new CEO resulted in the stock price tripling -- and the company's brand portfolio has grown to occupy a far larger share of retail floor space.

Executive Search Case Study 2:
Leadership Rejuvenation

In 2005, Hughes was asked to spearhead a CEO search for a footwear company that had just restructured after nearing bankruptcy. Following the presentation of eight potential candidates, the board was split between the two front-runners. Hughes recommended the board address the attributes of leadership and the long-term goals of the organization. Instead of "selling" the board on a candidate, Hughes encouraged the directors to examine which contender best served the interest of the corporation, its employees, and the core model on which the company operated. The board made its choice, and the company has returned to a multi-million dollar level of profitability within three years -- and is now actively expanding through acquisition.

Executive Search Case Study 3:
Long-Term Relationships With Clients

From 1987 through 2007, Hughes partnered with Liz Claiborne Inc. Working with the management teams of two successive CEO's, we advised and recruited for senior positions within all functions of the corporation -- including operations, supply chain and design management. We have had similar success with a broad range of wholesale, retail, direct mail, and home fashion clients. As one CEO has said, "Change is the one given in the consumer fashion industry today. Elaine has helped us manage our executive recruitment needs in an environment of rapid and continual transformation. I feel that they are more than an executive search firm -- they are a true partner in management."

"Margaret Thatcher liked to say, 'We need to practice leadership, not followship.' Bob and I are in the business of helping our clients stay out of followship mode."
